How To Care for Monstera Deliciosa

Sunlight requirements

Needs bright, indirect light to develop those famous splits (fenestrations). It can live in lower light, but the leaves will stay smaller and solid heart-shaped. Avoid harsh midday sun which can scorch the leaves.

Watering requirements

Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out significantly between drinks. It’s better to underwater this one than overwater it. If it’s "crying" (dripping water from leaf tips), you might be giving it too much love!

Fun Fact

In the wild, this plant produces a corn-cob-shaped fruit that tastes like a mix of pineapple, banana, and strawberry—hence the name "Deliciosa" (delicious) and its Aussie nickname, the "Fruit Salad Plant."
