How To Care for Calathea Orbifolia

Sunlight requirements

Prefers bright, indirect light to keep those silver-green stripes defined. However, it’s quite adaptable and can tolerate slightly lower light (shade) better than some of its colourful cousins. Direct sun will scorch the leaves quickly.

Watering requirements

Keep the soil consistently moist. This plant loves humidity—think "steamy bathroom" vibes. If the edges of the leaves start turning brown and crispy, it’s begging for more humidity or filtered water instead of tap water.

YES! This plant is completely safe for cats and dogs.

Fun Fact

The Orbifolia is one of the largest Calatheas you can grow indoors. In the right conditions, those round, striped leaves can grow as wide as a dinner plate (over 30cm!), making it a stunning statement piece.
